2015 Big Idea Contest
Are you a small manufacturer or an entrepreneur with a BIG IDEA? Are you looking to bring a new, innovative product or process to market? Are you located in Northwestern PA? If so, you may be eligible to participate in Ben Franklin Technology Partners 2015 Big Idea contest. description: Shoe Sensation located in the St. Mary's Plaza will hold its third annual food drive to benefit the Christian Food Bank of Elk County, located in St. Marys. Anyone donating any nonperishable food item can enter to win a $100 gift card from Shoe Sensation. Items requested by the Food Bank are any boxed dinner, peanut butter, canned fruit, cereal, soups, pasta, and pasta sauce.

Elk County Humane Society Presents "Portrait of Murder"

description: Support the Elk County Humane Society by attending "Portrait of Murder", a costume themed mystery dinner theater presented by "It's A Mystery by Lisa Lepovetsky" on Saturday, Nov. 1 at the St. Marys Moose Family Center on Erie Ave. in St,. Marys. Cost is $22 per person & the buffet features turkey dinner with trimmings plus pasta and meatballs, coffee/tea, and dessert. Honor Flight: One Last Mission

description: Join the Community Nurses, Inc. of Penn Highlands Elk We Honor Veterans Program at a showing of a heartwarming documentary about four living WWII veterans and a community coming together to give them the trip of their lifetimes. Bring your family to enjoy the movie and learn about this piece of history. Veterans in attendance will be recognized. Movie showing at 2 PM on Sunday, Nov. 9 at Elk County Catholic High School Auditorium.

There will be free health screenings along with displays by more than 30 organizations, and great door prizes (including a 32" flat screen TV!) will be awarded. 2014 PA Wilds Trails Summit - Take a hike to Williamsport!
date & location: Sessions will be held on November 12-13th at the Genetti Hotel and Conference Center, 200 West 4th Street in Williamsport, PA.
description: On behalf of the PA Wilds Trail Committee and Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Headwaters PA invites you to attend the upcoming 2014 Trail Summit. The keynote speaker is Neil Fowler, Appalachian Regional Commission PA State Program Manager, who will speak on Pennsylvania’s Priorities for Nature Based Economic Development. Department of Conservation and Natural Resources reps will provide updates on revisions to the Pennsylvania Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan. Summit topics include building, maintaining, and promoting land and water trails, choosing the best design for your trail, the wide range of trail surfaces available, what works best, and long-term sustainability. Breakout sessions will include local capacity building, technical trail design and trail gap connections. Professional Development Hours are offered for engineers and an exhibit area will showcase trail associations and professional expertise. Registration includes breakfast and lunch on both days and an evening reception. A guided tour of the Susquehanna River Walk is also planned.
