Blood Donors Needed!
The need for all blood types is constant and ongoing. All community members are encouraged to make an appointment to donate blood in the days and weeks ahead. Appointments are encouraged. Visit www.redcrossblood.org or call1-800-733-2767 to schedule an appointment! Donors with eligibility questions should call 1-866-236-3276. Upcoming blood drives are listed below:

A Little DASH Will Do You - Blood Pressure & Cholesterol Reduction Education Program

description: Learn how to lower your blood pressure and cholesterol naturally. Discover the DASH plan for a healthy lifestyle from the National Institutes of Health to aid in lowering blood pressure and cholesterol without the need for medications. This is a free community education event.

Live Butterfly Release for Hospice

date, time, & location: Aug. 3 at 3 p.m. in The Serenity Garden on the campus of Penn Highland Elk
description: Join us on Aug. 3 at 3 p.m. in The Serenity Garden on the campus of Penn Highland Elk for a brief celebration of life service, inspirational readings, and music, reading of loved ones' names, a butterfly release, and refreshments. You may sponsor butterflies in honor of or in memory of loved ones at $25 for each name. Please submit your butterfly order by July 25, and join us on Aug. 3 to release your butterfly. Pick up a sponsorship form at St. Marys Pharmacy, Bennett's Valley Pharmacy, Cliffe's - Ridgway, CVS Johnsonburg, Pinecrest Manor, SMP Pharmacy - Kane, Emporium Chamber of Commerce, or the lobbies at Penn Highlands Elk in St. Marys and Ridgway.

description: Do you have COPD, lung cancer, a lung disease diagnosis or family history? This evening is for you. Presentation on new techniques for early detection and screening of lung cancer, plys free screening test for COPD patients and those at risk. description: The American Red Cross will be offering Babysitter’s Training Wednesday, August 20 from 9:00 am – 3:30 pm at the Red Cross Office 109 North Brady Street, Suite 2, DuBois. The cost is $20.00. The course is designed for students ages 11 and older, the course provides them the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly care for infants and children up to the age of 10, as well as to manage a babysitting business.
