Chamber Golf Outing is Tuesday,
June 6
This year the St. Marys Area Chamber is teaming up with
the Elk County Humane Society in a joint fundraising effort
to put on our Annual Golf Outing. Thursday, June 6th at
the Bavarian Hills Golf Course. Get a team together and
join in the fun! Additional games: Skins ($20.00 per team);
Mulligans (2 for $5.00 per person - 1 for front nine and
1 for back nine); Vegas Hole (can wager up to $10.00);
50/50 drawing (10 tickets for $5.00); Hoop Shoot (3 shots
for $5.00); Basket Raffles (10 tickets for $5.00) and

- check it out here! From shopping and
dining to education and health, more than 300 organizations
are included in the directory.
The
directory also contains
pertinent
information to those relocating to the area, including
real estate information, career opportunities
and historical information.
The
print versions of the Directory
are currently available at the St. Marys Area Chamber
of Commerce. Directories have also been distributed to
the four local overnight accommodations and will be sent
to anyone requesting relocation information. For more

Sign-up for Community Nurses Safe
Sitter Classes - May 21
Sign up night for Safe Sitter Classes for boys and girls
ages 11-15 will be held at the Community Nurses St. Marys
office on May 21 from 6-7 p.m. A parent or guardian must
accompany the student to register. Classes will
be held on June 6 and July 16 at the St. Marys Boys &
Girls Club. $25 fee is due at registration. Please
ask about tuition assistance if needed.
Community Nurses Present A Practical
Guide to Planning For Aging - May 21 The
Community Nurses will host an informational evening on
Tuesday, May 21 from 6-8 p.m. at The Red Fern to help
answer your questions and inform you about the many aspects
of planning ahead. Presentations include Dr. Mark Shulkosky,
Elk Regional Health Center Chief Medical Officer, on POLST;
Andy Roman, County National Bank, on the Financial Aspects
of Aging; James Meyer, Attorney at Law, on the Legal Aspects
of Aging; and Karen Leithner, Community Nurses R.N. ,
on Aging with Dignity. Reservations may be made by calling

Donate Books For Annual Used Book
Sale - collection starts May 22
Books for Community Nurses Annual Used Book Sale (no
encyclopedias please!) will be collected at St. Marys
Catholic Middle School cafeteria on May 22 and 29 from
6-8 p.m., May 31 from 11 a.m. to 4, and June 1 from 9
a.m. to noon. Books will also be accepted on June 3 and
4 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It would be appreciated if books
are dropped off on the earlier dates if possible. Please
drive behind the school to the large set of doors on the
convent side to dop off books.

Energy Efficiency Incentive Funding
Ends May 2013 - Deadline is May 31
As a customer of Met-Ed, Penelec, Penn Power or West Penn
Power, you are eligible to receive a cash incentive for
making energy efficient choices. Hundreds of customers
have cashed in on this opportunity over the past year.
On May 31, 2013, phase one of Act 129 energy efficiency
incentive programs will end. If you installed high efficiency
lighting, HVAC, motors or other energy saving equipment
between November 2009 and May 31, 2013, you only have
13 business days left to apply for the cash incentives
you’ve already earned. Take advantage of the funding

4th Annual Benefit Run for Community
Nurses Hospice - June 1
4th Annual Benefit Run for Community Nurses Hospice sponsored
by ABATE Endless Mountain and God’s Country Chapters
will be held on Saturday, June 1. Registration is from
10 a.m. to noon at the Moose Club, 524 East Allegany Avenue,
Emporium. All street legal vehicles are welcome. Bring
your bike, your jeep, or your car and experience the best
of the beautiful scenery of Cameron, Elk and McKean counties.
The ride ends at the Eagles Club on Trout Run Road in
St. Marys where food will be provided and door prizes
will be awarded.
Community Nurses Annual Used Book
Sale For Hospice - June 6, 7, 8, & 9
The sale will be held at St. Marys Catholic Middle School
cafeteria. Sale dates are set for June 6, 1-7 p.m., June
7, noon to 6 p.m., June 8, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. and
June 9, noon to 3 p.m. Volunteers who can help sort and
organize our thousands of books are always welcome. Please

Mommies & Mimosas - June 11
The Winery at Wilcox at The DuBois Wine Shop: Mommies
& Mimosas is for Moms looking for a few hours away
to share tips from Pinterest. There will be light snacks,
special discounts, Mimosas and other mall store participation.

Camp Flutterbye (grief camp for
children and teens) - June 13 & 14
A two-day grief camp for children and teens, K-12, will
be held on Thursday, June 13 and Friday, June 14 at The
Pines in St. Marys from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Meaningful
and fun activities planned by bereavement professionals
help participants understand that grieving the loss of
a loved one is healthy and normal. There is no fee. Registration
is required by June 1st. Please call 781-4722.

Expo Scheduled for Aug. 17 & 18
The Pennsylvania Great Outdoors Visitors Bureau and Keystone
Elk Country Alliance have partnered to bring the Elk Expo

Center grounds in Benezette. Enjoy nationally recognized
speakers and in-depth educational seminars & presentations
